GuarantCo is a subsidiary of the Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG). PIDG is an innovative infrastructure development and finance organization funded by six governments. The Portfolio Guarantee covers losses on a defined portfolio of loans to corporates, projects or financial institutions involved in facilitating infrastructure, usually on a second loss basis. The guarantee transfers a portion of the credit risk associated with the defined portfolio to GuarantCo (AA- / A1 internationally-rated entity) allowing the lender to target larger transactions, without breaching exposure limits.
