The CSP, developed by the EBRD and supported by the German Federal Government through their International Climate Initiative (IKI), aims to increase private sector investment in climate projects across higher-risk markets in Eastern Europe, Central Asia and North Africa. The funds are used as a first loss risk cover (FLRC) to reduce risks for institutional investors, co-financing green EBRD projects through A/B loan structures. Technical assistance is also offered to support project preparation and structuring.

This guarantee is for any climate adaptation and mitigation project, excluding carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) technologies.
